Liz waited a long time to meet her Mr. Right, but no matter, we all knew he'd show up at exactly the right time - and Liz would be swept off her feet into crazy love. Liz called me one day last Fall and said, "Kerry! Guess what! I'm engaged! And I would love for you to make my bouquet!" Honored as ever, to design a bouquet that would represent my friend Liz as she marries her love. You see, Liz and I met over 15 years ago at my then corporate job. We became friends - and more importantly, remained friends, and I love her like a sister. Liz asked me to create a bouquet with sentimental meaning. She lost her Dad years ago, and wished to honor him and her Mom with specific flowers: calla lilies and sunflowers. Hmmm, I thought. That's a tall order. But I've got this. Liz is special. She's loyal and a faithful friend; headstrong, yet able to compromise; she's a perfectionist, yet easygoing. She's loving and funny and a joy. She's playful like the sunflower and as colorful as they come, so I put together a color palette to express all the many wonderful facets of my friend Liz, while honoring her father and her mother.
